gotta start somewhere
I love you Petunia/Keely but here’s the situation….
I gotta get healthy.
In order to do that I have to make some changes. I have to eat healthy and be active. So….
I am starting on the active.
I am semi eating healthy and I know that I will get better but the fact is that I like carbs too much. I love the way I feel when I live Paleo but the problem I find is the preparation. The carbs are too easy to get a hold of, but I have faith that I will get that part down.
On to being active…
Here is the most recent story:
I was feeling sad and unfulfilled, plus…I was feeling fat. Plain and simple. I mentioned it to my hubby and he expressed a concern with my unhappiness. We discussed my constant need to learn. We talked about my desire to get another degree. As we talked about those things we broke it down to my need to learn, OUR need to not acquire new student loan debt, and my need to get active again. I let that sink in for a few days. At work I wrote myself a note, to look into getting my nursing license in California and look into nursing jobs in El Centro. At the bottom of the note I wrote…”What does it take to become a personal trainer?” I looked at it off and on for another couple of days. Then out of the blue by husband sent an instant messenger note to me about a PIYO certification class on February 20. I responded, “Really??? Awesome” Later that evening we were talking and I asked, “Did I tell you I was thinking about certification in personal training?” He answered, “No.” I smiled because once again we were on the same wavelength without knowing it.
Then I started to do some research…
I looked into PIYO certification and read some blogs about people to went through the program. I looked up information about PIYO (I’ll explain more about that in a bit) and I found opinions about the program. Then I decided…and committed.
Now…when you make a commitment to change the only person you truly have to commit to is yourself. So when I say I committed…it was to myself.
I decided that I needed to follow a plan in order to get somewhere. I knew I wanted to do the PIYO certification but I wasn’t sure that I would be ready. That being said…I didn’t, and still have not, said NO to that class. I just needed to start exercising in order to see if I could do the certification within 20 days.
I started PIYO on Monday Feb 1, 2016 and expect to make it through the 8 week course. I also added a one mile walk (two laps around my neighborhood), a 30 day squat challenge, and a 30 day ab challenge. Granted, I am only two days in but I can already feel it in my buns!
I asked my hubby to help create a blog or a website to talk about this path and the many other things that I find interesting in life. So here my journaling and “blogging” begin! Thanks for being with me!!!
Aloha… Loke
P.S. PIYO and Paleo is my health future and it will be a journey.
